Change We Can Believe In

Week 2 ...

Was completely different and seemed almost too easy, too basic, on the surface.... Until we began to dig deeper!

It was good to see how God speaks to us in basic principles that don't require a Bible degree.   As we study, the Holy Spirit may bring another scripture to our minds.   We should view this as a nudge to go deeper; to respond by looking up that scripture and to see what He may be trying to show us.  Chasing rabbits while studying may lead you to the rabbit hole God wants you to jump into head first!!!

We discussed the principle of our adopted heritage.  We were excluded from membership of Israel, aliens with no part in the covenant of the promise.  Now we also are children of God, partakers of the promise.

Jesus is the cornerstone, we have to be attached to Him to become part of the foundation.  The cornerstone represents the starting place, where He desires to make us grow.

We explored things that help us grow and things that keep us from growing.  Identifying how important our desire to grow is.  Through growth, we become a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit.  Where He can reach others through us.

All of these principles showed us how personal our God wants to be.  He wants us to become a holy place where he can dwell; where He dwells there is peace.

Kari Jobe's song says it so well,.

My Beloved:

I'll take you to my quiet waters
I'll restore your soul
Come rest in me and be made whole

You're my beloved, you're my bride
To sing over you is my delight
Come away with me my love

Blessings to each of you as you dig deep this week!

Our first class had rich discussion and good insight.  Those who were unable to attend were missed, and we look forward to seeing you next week!

Some of the main points shared:

In Genesis we see the Catalyst, the Holy Spirit hovering over the earth waiting for God's commands to change the formless, empty, dark, wasteland, called planet Earth into a rich land that produced food and sustained the animals and human kind.  He gave it order, direction, purpose, and made it full.

We talked about how the Holy Spirit hovers over people waiting to change us.  To transform our lives much like He transformed the Earth.  Sometimes the only way that transformation can take place is through our prayers, which was brought out from Mark 9:28-29.

We were encouraged to be alert and of sober mind so that we may pray in 1 Peter 4:7, showing that we have to be intentional in the way we live so that we can pray.

We discussed that the questions weren't easy and we didn't always have any answer!  Thank you for continuing in your studies anyway!

What did I leave out Ladies, we talked about much more.  If you would like to post more about the fist week, feel free to do so.  Or you can post about this coming week, this is your blog, anything goes!

I wasn't able to reach Lenora but will keep trying .  Have a great week!

Blessings,

Cynthia
